Toyos Clinic was established in 1998 when Dr. Rolando Toyos was called by a recruiter from St. Judes Children's Hospital who was looking for an Ophthalmologist to staff a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Jackson Madison Medical Center in Jackson, Tennessee. Dr. Toyos was responsible for eye care at the NICU for 10 years and was also the Medical Director of the Jackson Madison Surgery Center. He opened a clinic in Memphis when the Memphis Grizzlies asked him to be the team's Ophthalmologist. A position that he held for several years. Melissa Toyos, MD became a partner in Toyos Clinic in 2014. She was previously a partner in one of the largest practices in the country Discover Vision in Kansas City.
